Competence Assessor Training is a course, approved by OPITO, designed to provide the candidates with the necessary knowledge and skills to conduct workplace assessment. The ECDIS Management course provides a hands-on 'type specific' training in a full mission bridge simulator using the MARIS ECDIS 900 and the MARIS Maritime Digital Service (MDS) system. The Maritime Resource Management Course is a further development of the original SAS Bridge Resource Management Course. The course focuses on the use and co-ordination of all the skills, knowledge, experience and resources available to the crew to achieve the established goals of safety and efficiency. The MRM Course includes the principles of Bridge Resource Management as outlined in Section B-VIII/2, part 3-1 of the STCW Code. Combining their respective experience and expertise, Maritime Asset Security and Training - MAST, and IDESS Interactive Technologies (IDESS IT) have developed a Computer Based Training program on Anti-Piracy. This course is designed to teach the participants the correct method of planning and executing a coastal passage in a small craft. It involves working with charts and nautical publications and safely using modern electronic navigational aids. This course is designed to teach the participant how to respond effectively to life threatening situations up until professional help arrives. The course is a blend of knowledge development, skill practice and scenario practice. Training that will greatly enhance the skills of your site management team in dealing with an emergency. This course is designed to satisfy the requirements of the International Sailing Federation Special Regulation 6.01 and Appendix G. The course consists of a blend of classroom based theoretical training and waterborne practical exercises. The course provides a blend of theoretical instruction and practical exercises in various environmental conditions designed to prepare the participant to safely take charge of a powerboat in coastal waters.
